Octopus toys help premature babies to survive

Kids love cuddly toys...surprisingly, it is not teddy bears that comfort the newborns, but crocheted octopuses.
These octopuses have become really popular in neonatal intensive care units all over the world, studies have shown that they comfort babies and even aid a faster recovery. The tentacles replicate the umbilical cord and because the babies hold onto them with their tiny little hands they are less likely to pull out important tubes or pull off their leads.
